POBNEWS24, Dhaka Mar 22, 2021 :Nepal’s President Vidya Devi Bhandari arrived in Bangladesh on a two-day state visit on Monday morning. He is visiting Dhaka to attend the Golden Jubilee of Independence and the birth anniversary celebrations of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The Nepal Airlines plane carrying the President of Nepal and his entourage landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka around 10 am. President. Abdul Hamid received the President of Nepal at the airport. After 21 rounds of artillery fire, Nepal’s President Vidya Devi Bhandari was given a guard of honor at the airport.
According to the itinerary, the President of Nepal will visit the National Memorial in Savar from the airport. He will pay homage to the heroic martyrs of the liberation war by laying a wreath at the memorial. There he will sign visitors ’books. Later plant a sapling.
This afternoon, the President of Nepal will attend the ‘Mujib Chirantan’ function at the National Parade Square to celebrate the golden jubilee of independence and the birth anniversary of Bangabandhu as the guest of honor. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will receive him there. Vidya Devi Bhandari will address the program on the sixth day.
Accompanying the President of Nepal are Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Giawali and Secretaries and senior officials of the Ministry of External Affairs, the Office of the President and the concerned Ministries.
Nepal’s Ambassador to Dhaka Banshidhar Mishra recently told Prothom Alo that during his visit to Dhaka, Nepal’s President Vidya Devi Bhandari will discuss various issues of bilateral relations, including trade and trade between the two countries. The visit will strengthen relations between the two countries and take them to new heights.
According to the schedule, Vidya Devi Bhandari will hold talks with the President of Bangladesh at Bangabhaban tonight. After the talks, four memorandums of understanding are expected to be signed between the two countries.
Vidya Devi Bhandari will visit the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum on Dhanmondi Road No. 32 in the capital on Tuesday morning. There he will pay homage to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the architect of independent Bangladesh, the father of the nation and the greatest Bengali of all time. Later he will visit Bangabandhu Memorial Museum.
A 10-day special program has started from March 16 to celebrate the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence and Bangabandhu’s birth anniversary. The program will run until March 26 in compliance with health guidelines. The main theme of the program is ‘Mujib Chiranton’. However, different day programs have different themes.
Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohammed Salih arrived in Dhaka on March 16 as the first world leader to attend the ‘Mujib Chirantan’ program. The Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa arrived in Dhaka on 19 March as the second world leader. Nepal’s President Vidya Devi Bhandari arrived today as the third world leader. This is the first visit of the President of Nepal to Bangladesh.
The Prime Minister of Bhutan Lotte Shering will visit Dhaka on March 24 and 25 to attend the event. And Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Dhaka on March 26.
