We have collaborated in some places for the development of schools. ‘
The Prime Minister was speaking as the chief guest at a civic reception on the occasion of her visit to the United Arab Emirates on Friday (March 11) at around 8 pm with a virtual part from Hotel Sangrila, a residence in Abu Dhabi.
During this time he laid the foundation stone of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Bhaban of the virtual Ras Al Khaimah Bangladesh English Private School and College.
The Prime Minister further said, “When I came to the UAE in 2019, there was talk of starting a Bangladeshi school here. Later, the Minister for Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Affairs informed me that the school needs some development. Special measures need to be taken to ensure that the school is not closed. We have taken appropriate measures for this. Now the construction work of the new building has started there. I am delighted to be in the UAE today to inaugurate such an event. ‘
Referring to the August 15 massacre, the Prime Minister said, “Sheikh Rehana and I may have survived the August 15 incident because we were out of the country. But they kept our passports. We had to stay as refugees in exile. On the one hand the grief of the family, on the other hand I could not even identify myself in this difficult situation. ‘
The Prime Minister said, “In the country where my parents, brothers and sisters were killed, we had no right to seek justice. Because the murderers were rewarded. None of them can be judged. The Indemnity Act was enacted to save them. Despite committing crimes, they were released and rewarded with jobs at various embassies. They were given a chance to do politics. They were put in parliament by stealing people’s votes. Those who brutally tortured the citizens of my country during the war of liberation, looted their houses, set them on fire, carried out genocide, were made advisers to the Prime Minister. That is, the reign of murderers and war criminals began. ‘
He said, “I have called on the people of Bangladesh, we have the soil, you can harvest whatever you can.” One inch of land should not remain uncultivated. Referring to the installation of CCTV and development of monitoring system to stop harassment of expatriates at the airport, the Prime Minister said the suffering would be further reduced once the construction of the third terminal at Dhaka Airport is completed.
