POBNEWS24, Dhaka June 25, 2022 : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid the first toll on the Padma Bridge. He inaugurated the Padma Bridge in Mawa just before 12 noon on Saturday.
Officials say the prime minister is the first person to cross the Padma bridge by toll.
Although the Padma Bridge was inaugurated for traffic today, it will be opened to the public tomorrow at 6 am.
Earlier on Friday, the concerned authorities tested some public vehicles by crossing the toll plaza at the Mawa end for the Padma Multipurpose Bridge toll plaza.
The experimental traffic process takes seven days. Authorities practiced the process of collecting tolls and issuing slips during this period.
