POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Mar 7, 2022 : On the occasion of ‘Historic 7 March 2022’, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has paid homage to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He paid homage to the portrait of Bangabandhu with flowers in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi No. 32 on Monday (March 8) morning.
After paying their respects, the Prime Minister stood there in silence for a while as a token of respect to the Father of the Nation, the architect of independence. After paying his respects, the number 32 was opened for all.
Later, people of different professions including Awami League, Chhatra League, Juba League, Swechchhasebak League, various associate and fraternal organizations of Awami League, various social and cultural organizations paid homage to the portrait of Bangabandhu.
On this day in 1971, the then undisputed leader of the Bengali nation, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman called for the independence of Bangladesh in a turbulent crowd —’This time the struggle is for our independence, this time the struggle is for liberation ‘.
Bangabandhu’s speech on March 7 encouraged the people of this country to prepare for independence. It serves as a mantra to burn against the filth, exploitation and oppression of long-term subjugation. Inspired by the speech, our people liberated Bangladesh through 9 months of bloody liberation war.
