POBNEWS24,Dhaka July 23, 2022 : Pointing out that we have many challenges ahead, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, we have to face them. Globally where economic recession has occurred. The war in Ukraine, then the sanctions, the coronavirus – all together, we will definitely have a transition from there. Because those who are in our administration, they are working very efficiently, only they can do it successfully.
He said these things at the Bangabandhu Public Administration Medal awarding ceremony at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Saturday (July 23). The Prime Minister joined the function virtually from his official residence Ganabhaban.
The Prime Minister said, America has again imposed sanctions on Russia along with the war to deal with the coronavirus. Exchange money in dollars, closing SWIFT. Not only countries like ours, all the developed countries are suffering now. Due to this one decision, our purchase of fertiliser, food, fuel oil – all sectors are being hampered.
He said, not only us, the whole world has fallen into a miserable condition. This is the reality. I think, if someone thinks that a country can be taught only by giving sanctions, but everyone is enjoying that education by giving it. Everyone is now suffering from that education. As inflation has increased in our country, inflation has increased much more in developed countries. Fuel oil prices have increased.
Sheikh Hasina said that it is not only us who are talking about saving electricity, developed countries have also made it clear that they need to save electricity. Whether you say England or America or Europe, I will talk about developed countries. Their situation is pathetic now. Where is our situation there now?
He praised the officials and said that we are better than many countries because you are working from your situation. Yet we have to be frugal with the future in mind. We have to be frugal. Special attention should be paid to avoid unnecessary wastage.
On the occasion of ‘National Public Service Day’, the ‘Bangabandhu Public Administration Medal’ has been given to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for the first time. Until now, the name of this medal was only Public Administration Medal. This year, 27 officials from various government departments, three ministries and one unit received the Bangabandhu Public Administration Medal.
