POBNEWS24, Dhaka Sep 12, 2022 : Mohammad Rizwan was just 50 runs behind. Mohammad Rizwan has been able to reach the target by filling that deficiency. But has Pakistan won the title?

It is being said that it is about the Asia Cup final. When Rizwan opened to chase Sri Lanka’s 170, he was 50 runs behind Kohli. The Indian star is still the highest run scorer (276) in this year’s Asia Cup. Rizwan is on two with 226 runs.

Later, Rizwan also became the highest run-scorer in the Asia Cup by hitting Karunaratne for a six. But his innings of 55 off 49 balls failed as the team failed to win.

Rizwan is on top with 281 runs in 6 matches at an average of 56.20 in 6 innings. His half-centuries are three highest among the top five run scorers. Rizwan is ahead of the rest in four hits (21). Kohli scored 276 runs in 5 matches at an average of 92 in 5 innings. Kohli (147.59) is next to Vanuka Rajapaksa (149.21) in the top five batsmen in strike rates.

Among the top five batsmen, Kohli has the most number of sixes (11). This time, among all the batsmen in the Asia Cup, only Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz (12) has hit more sixes than Kohli. Kohli scored the only century in this year’s tournament but Rizwan is ahead in consistency (43, 78*, 71, 20, 14 and 55). But Kohli is not far behind, look at his innings—35, 59*, 60, 0 and 122*.

Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran is third with 196 runs in 5 innings in 5 matches. Jadran’s strike rate (104.25) is the lowest among the top five batsmen. Among the top five batsmen, Rajapakse played the fewest balls (128). Rizwan played the maximum 239 balls. Interestingly, Rizwan scored 281 runs in 6 innings in 6 matches in the last T20 World Cup as well. Like this year’s Asia Cup, he also picked up three half-centuries in the last T20 World Cup.

Three Pakistanis and one each from Sri Lanka and India are among the top five bowlers. However, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, one of India’s pacers, could not make it to the final due to taking wickets. He has 11 wickets in 5 matches.

Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga, who took 3 wickets in the final yesterday, is 2 with 9 wickets in 6 matches. Then three bowlers of Pakistan – Mohammad Nawaz, Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf – took 8 wickets each.
