POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Nov 12, 2021: BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called on all to unite to get rid of the ‘terrible fascist’ government.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam made the call at a discussion meeting on the occasion of National Revolution and Solidarity Day on November 8 at Dhaka Reporters Unity auditorium on Thursday afternoon. The meeting was organized by the National Committee to Celebrate the Golden Jubilee of BNP Independence.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam said in the discussion meeting, “By instilling fear and terror, by creating an atmosphere of fear in the society, the innate feeling of talking and protesting is being destroyed.” There is no alternative but to unite against it.

The BNP secretary general said, ‘This government has destroyed all our good things, beautiful things. There is no security anywhere today. The law is being made against the people in the literal sense. The Freedom of Speech has been completely suppressed by the Digital Security Act. Photographer Kajal has again filed a case under the Security Act. Four thousand people have been sued under this act.

Mirza Fakhrul said, ‘This horrible fascist government is sitting on our necks and destroying all our achievements. This government must be defeated through a united movement with all the people of the country, with all the political organizations, with all the political figures, and with the rule of law, a free economy, a free society and the kind of state system that the people want. ‘

Complaining that the government has completely partisanised the judiciary of the country, Mirza Fakhrul Islam said that the electoral system has been destroyed, the administration has been destroyed. The most frightening thing is that the judiciary has been completely partisan. It is almost impossible to get justice here now.

Referring to the sentencing of former chief justice SK Sinha, the BNP secretary general said the former chief justice had been sentenced to 11 years.

Lawyers say it may never be desirable. It will never take the judiciary in a dignified position. It will destroy people’s confidence in the judiciary. He expressed concern that no judge today would dare to give a verdict against the government’s injustice. Giving a verdict that the government does not want will be dangerous for them.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam said, ‘Today the crisis is very deep. This is the crisis of our existence that preceded November 7, 1975. That crisis has occurred here today. Our independence-sovereignty is in danger, our very existence is in danger. We have lost everything we had. ‘

Kalyan Party Chairman Syed Muhammad Ibrahim, BNP Standing Committee Member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Vice Chairman Shahjahan Omar, Organizing Secretary Shabibayad And General Secretary of the Nationalist Freedom Fighters Party Sadek Ahmed Khan.
