Muslims across the country will celebrate the biggest festival of Eid-ul-Fitr today by observing a full month of fasting in the holy month of Ramadan. The day will be celebrated with due religious solemnity, enthusiasm, joy and excitement. Devout Muslims are fasting for a whole month during the holy month of Ramadan and are now preparing to perform Eid prayers in congregation.
Preparations for Eid Jamaat have already been completed in the capital and across the country. Although the Eid Jamaat has not been held at the National Eidgah adjacent to the High Court for the last two years due to the epidemic Corona virus, this time the main Eid Jamaat will be held here at 8:30 am. The president, judges, cabinet members and diplomats from the Muslim world are expected to offer Eid prayers at the national Eidgah. Separate prayers have also been arranged for women at the Eidgah.
Eid Jamaat will also be held at Sholakia Maidan, a hundred-year-old historical site. However, if this congregation is not possible due to inclement weather or any other unavoidable reason, the main congregation of Eid will be held at 9 am at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.
On the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Fitr, 3-day public holiday is starting from Friday. National flags are hoisted at government, semi-government buildings, autonomous institutions, private buildings and all installations of the armed forces and banners emblazoned with the national flag and ‘Eid Mubarak’ are displayed at important traffic islands and light posts in the metropolis. On the night before Eid-ul-Fitr, important installations including government buildings were illuminated.
Meanwhile, 5 Eid congregations will be held at the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram like every year. The first congregation will be held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque – 8 am, then the last Eid congregation will be held at 8 am, 9 am, 10 am and 11:15 am.
According to a press release issued by the Islamic Foundation, the first congregation will be held at 8 am under the leadership of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Senior Pesh Imam Hafez Mufti Maulana Mizanur Rahman. Mukabbi will be Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Muazzin Hafez. Isaac.

Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated across the country by formulating their respective programs in the light of major national programs of divisions or districts, upazilas, city corporations, municipalities, armed forces divisions and non-governmental organizations. In addition, Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Betar and private media will broadcast special programs with special importance and publish special issues in newspapers.
On the occasion of Eid celebration, arrangements have been made to serve quality food in all hospitals, prisons, government children’s home, old age home, small home, socially handicapped center, shelter center, safe home, vagrant welfare center, distressed welfare and drug addiction treatment center.
On the day of Eid, all the children’s parks under Dhaka South City Corporation and North City Corporation have been arranged to enter and entertain the disadvantaged children without tickets. Arrangements have been made for the disadvantaged children to enter the museum, Ahsan Manzil, Lalbagh Fort etc. on the day of Eid. Besides, a children’s Eid reunion program has been organized at Bangladesh Shishu Academy.
