POBNEWS24,Dhaka July 24, 2022 : Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that they launched a missile attack on the country’s military ships in the port of Odessa, Ukraine. The attack was carried out yesterday local time on Saturday. Reuters news.
In a Telegram post on Sunday, Zakharova said that the Kalibar missile attack destroyed the military infrastructure of Odessa port. A Ukrainian military ship has been sent to a favorite address of the country’s government after being hit by a missile.
Today, Zakharova announced the new attack after the Ukrainian president blamed Russia for the attack on the Odesa port within hours of the grain deal.
Russia and Ukraine reached a UN-backed deal last Friday to open Black Sea ports to grain exports. This attack was carried out in Odessa port before 24 hours of this agreement.
After this attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said yesterday, why Moscow cannot be trusted to stick to the agreement – this attack is proof of that. He pledged to do everything possible to acquire air defenses to shoot down such missiles in the future.
Under Friday’s agreement, Russia agreed not to target ports while preparing grain shipments.
Ukraine is a major grain exporter. However, due to the blockade of Russia, about two million tons of grain are stuck in the ports of Ukraine. This led to food shortages and rising prices across Africa. Countries in the African region are generally dependent on Russia and Ukraine for wheat.
