POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Mar 15, 2022 : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed the concerned authorities to expedite the expansion work of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital. He gave this instruction while witnessing the presentation of the progress (first phase) (1st amendment) of the expansion work of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at his official residence Ganobhaban on Tuesday morning.
A statement from the Press Wing of the Prime Minister’s Office said that in addition to giving other necessary instructions, he also directed to take steps for the acquisition of land at Chittagong Airport. The total progress of the work is 32 percent and the work is expected to be completed by November 2023.
Sheikh Hasina directed the authorities to take the work forward keeping in mind the future. The head of government also emphasized on increasing the revenue of Bangladesh Biman. He also directed to arrange training for those concerned to strengthen the security arrangements at the airport.
