POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Oct 7, 2023 : Amar Bangladesh Party, AB Party, held a black-flag protest meeting, followed by a street rally, on Saturday morning at Bijoy 71 square, close to its central office. Prof. Dr. Abdul Wahab Minar, a Joint-Convenor of the party, presided over the meeting where Mojibur Rahman Monju, Member Secretary, Asaduzzaman Fuaad, a barrister-at-law and Joint Member Secretary spoke at the event.
Mojibur Rahman Monju said it is such a shame to talk about personal matters of prominent politicians like former PM Khaleda Zia, referring to PM’s uncultured ventures into the family affairs and closing life span which is nobody’s business but of God. The government was reminded of how Nimrod, a well known oppressive king in Abrahamic faiths, was destroyed by a mere mosquito. The days of this government are numbered and we would collectively struggle for return to democracy.
Asaduzzaman Fuaad said, Argentinian economy was doing quite well in 2000s and afterwards but due to high level cronies and corruption, the economic growth was slammed. Super inflation and unprecedented price hike made the lives of working and middle class unbearable. Super riches laundered billions of dollars outside the country causing the national economy to a free fall which are all so similar in Bangladesh for last fifteen years. For the first time in our history, we have been sanctioned twice, by US Treasury on our elite force RAB in December 2021, happened under this unelected government; restricted visa policy is the second sanction we have been under which is a shame for the nation and country.
Prof. Abdul Wahab Minar, a retired army major, concluded by saying that still tens of millions of poor people cannot have a descent meal on their tables, millions sleep on the streets in rain, cold or heat and these are all happening after good 52 years of our independence. We have witnessed how few days of rainfall caused severe unban flooding and water logging making lives of city dwellers to a halt, amidst endless development!
