POBNEWS24, Dhaka Nov 4,2024 : Indian Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has raised questions about giving shelter to Bangladesh’s ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in India.
When Union Home Minister Amit Shah accused her of harboring Bangladeshi infiltrators, she countered by questioning Sheikh Hasina’s asylum process.
Hemant Soren said while speaking at an election rally in Ranka of Garwa constituency on Sunday (November 3), I want to know whether BJP has any internal agreement with Bangladesh. Tell us, “On what basis did you allow the former Prime Minister of Bangladesh to land and take refuge in India”?
Soren claims that the electricity generated in Jharkhand is being supplied to Bangladesh, and the people of the state are dealing with the pollution caused by these power plants.
India’s ruling Hindutva party BJP released its election manifesto on Sunday. There, Amit Shah accused the Chief Minister of the eastern state of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, of ‘sheltering infiltrators’. Amit Shah addressed Bangladeshis in particular.
In response, Hemant Soren said, isn’t it the Centre’s responsibility to guard the border and prevent infiltration? The state government has no role in this. Infiltrators enter India through your (BJP) ruled states. Why don’t you investigate the intrusion there?
It should be noted that assembly elections will be held in Jharkhand this November. And BJP is working vigorously keeping that election in front. Amit Shah has called for the formation of BJP government in that state. The infiltration issue has become one of the tools of the BJP’s campaign mainly with this election in mind. On November 13 and 20, 81 constituencies of Jharkhand will be polled in two phases. The results of the polls will be known on November 23.
