POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Nov 19, 2022 : Thousands of foreign workers are living in various industrial areas outside Doha, the capital of Qatar. In recent times, a large number of foreign single workers have been relocated to other cities outside of Doha ahead of the start of the World Cup.

Qatar authorities have arranged for this large number of foreign workers to watch the game free of charge. On behalf of the Ministry of Home Affairs, a campaign is being conducted in various languages including Bengali. While it is mandatory to show ‘Haya Card’ while entering the fanzone of Albida Park located in the capital Doha, this event is open to all in those industrial areas.

The aim of the authorities is that the foreign workers should have the opportunity to watch the game in a pleasant environment near their residence. The authorities believe that this will reduce the pressure of people in the capital Doha and foreign visitors will have the opportunity to move freely.

Starting from November 18, these events will continue till December 18.

Starting from November 18, these events will continue till December 18. Every day from 4 pm to 10 pm there will be fun and entertaining events.

There are three venues in different parts of Qatar where foreign workers can watch games free of charge, the most notable of which is the cricket stadium in Asian Town in the Sana’iya industrial area and the surrounding area.

Not only watching World Cup matches, this fan zone has performances by Asian and various international cultural groups. There is free Wi-Fi and food and drink stalls for visitors.

Apart from this, another fan zone has been set up in the sports complex in Alkhor, a border town far from Doha. All World Cup matches will be shown here for free.

The third fan zone is located in the New Industrial Area known as New Sana’ia. There are various sports competitions as an additional event. There is also a system of prizes. Apart from this free blood pressure and diabetes tests have been arranged for the workers.

The current charge of the affairs of Bangladesh Embassy in Qatar. Muhammad Mustafizur Rahman told Prothom Alo that Bangladeshi workers living in those industrial areas will have the opportunity to watch the World Cup games with great pleasure as a result of such an initiative by the Qatar government. As a result, they no longer have to come to Doha. Rather, they can be in the mood of the World Cup around themselves.
