POBNEWS24, SAVAR, Aug 15, 2021 :Bangladesh State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Md Enamur Rahman today said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family were brutally killed under the patronage of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman.
“The assassins comprising expelled army members entered the cantonment with the permission of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman and finalized the plan to kill Bangabandhu and his family members,” he said.
He made the remarks while addressing a discussion, award distribution and doa-mahfil organized by Savar upazila administration at the Upazila Parishad Hall marking the 46th martyrdom anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day-2021.
The meeting was chaired by Savar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mazharul Islam and attended by Upazila Parishad Chairman and Upazila Awami League General Secretary Manjurul Alam Rajib and leaders of the Upazila Awami League and its affiliated bodies.
Earlier, the party leaders and workers paid homage to Bangabandhu by placing wreaths to his portrait at Upazila Chattar.
Besides, discussions, prayers and doa-mahfils were arranged in Savar and Ashulia on the occasion of the 46th martyrdom anniversary of the Father of the Nation by the leaders and workers of Awami League and its affiliated organizations through separate programmes.
Leaders and activists of Upazila and Municipal Awami League and its affiliated organizations are also holding various programmes on the occasion of National Mourning Day in Dhamrai, Dhaka.
