POBNEWS24, Dhaka Jan 15, 2023 : 40 bodies have been recovered from the crashed plane of Yeti Airlines in Pokhara, Nepal so far. This news was reported by the BBC with reference to the concerned officials.
However, the name or identity of the deceased has not yet been announced. The plane crashed on landing and caught fire, the BBC reported. There were 68 passengers and 4 crew members on the Yeti Airlines flight.
Yeti Airlines spokesperson Sudarshan Bartaula said the plane crashed between the old airport and Pokhara International Airport.
Of the 68 passengers on board the crashed plane, 53 were Nepalis and 15 were foreigners. In the meantime, hundreds of army personnel have participated in the rescue operation.
Among the 15 foreign passengers, 5 are Indians, 4 are Russians and 2 are Korean nationals. Apart from this, there are 1 passenger each from Ireland, Australia, Argentina and France.
Airplane accidents occur occasionally in Nepal. In May last year, a Tara Air plane crashed, killing 22 people. Earlier in 2018, 51 people were killed when a plane from Dhaka, Bangladesh crashed while landing in Kathmandu.
