In the meantime, Awami League has informed the Election Commission about giving nominations to 48 constituencies. Jatiya Party will get the remaining two seats. Many names are coming up in the chats and hints of party leaders, many of whom can be seen in Parliament. Among them, it is heard that the central leader of the party, the leader of the affiliated organizations and the leaders of the Awami League in different districts will be taken into consideration. Apart from this, talks are going on about giving two-three seats to the alliance partners. However, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has indicated that the majority of the seniors will not be nominated this time.
This time, women can get seats – Awami League Finance and Planning Secretary Wasika Ayesha Khan, Agriculture and Cooperative Secretary Faridunnahar Laili, Health and Population Secretary Dr. Rokeya Sultana, Education Secretary Begum Shamsun Nahar (Champa), Executive Member Parveen Zaman Kalpana and Marufa Akhtar Popi. In the results of the 12th National Assembly elections, Awami League got 223 seats, 14 party partners Jasad and Workers Party got 62 independent seats. Kalyan Party got one seat. Jatiya Party won 11 seats. Awami League got 38 seats, Jatiya Party got 2 seats and independents got 10 seats out of 50 women’s seats in numerical proportional system.
In the meantime, the Election Commission has sent a letter to the parties and independents represented in the Parliament to join or join the party by January 30 to facilitate the distribution of women’s seats. On January 31, Awami League submitted a letter to the EC with everyone’s signature stating that they will nominate 48 constituencies jointly.
