POBNEWS24, Dhaka July 21, 2026 : Minister for Education and Primary and Mass Education Dr. ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon has said that the lobbying for transfers of government primary school teachers is ‘overwhelming’. According to him, ‘The teachers are so crowded with the lobbying for transfers that I and State Minister Bobby Hajjaj cannot even enter our office room.’
He said this as the chief guest at a view exchange meeting organized by the Department of Primary Education with all levels of primary officials under Dhaka district on Tuesday (July 21) afternoon.
The view exchange meeting was organized at the PTI auditorium in Mirpur in the capital on the issue of what officials should do to implement ‘higher quality primary education’.
Explaining the reason for transferring primary teachers to upazilas, the minister said, ‘All the teachers of government primary schools want to come to Dhaka, listening to them, it seems as if all the schools are in Dhaka. For this reason, the transfer has been taken to the upazila level.’
The meeting, chaired by Secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education Md. Sakhawat Hossain, was attended by State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj, Director General of the Directorate of Primary Education Shahina Ferdousi, among others.
