POBNEWS24, Dhaka , May 16, 2024 : Mild and moderate heat waves are sweeping across the country . Today is the fourth day of this heat wave which started last Monday. It may continue for two more days. Along with that, day and night temperature may increase slightly across the country. Excess water vapor may cause discomfort.
Such information has been reported in the weather forecast for the next 72 hours from 9 am on Thursday (May 16).
According to the forecast, mild to moderate heat waves are flowing over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and may continue.
The heat wave that started last Monday intensified from yesterday Wednesday. On Wednesday, the highest temperature in the country was recorded at 39 degrees Celsius in Dinajpur.
The lowest temperature of 23.1 degrees Celsius was recorded at Tentulia in Panchagarh on this day. The maximum temperature of Dhaka yesterday was 36.3 degrees Celsius.
Meteorologist Omar Farooq said that this heat wave will not be as intense as in April. But discomfort will prevail due to excess of water vapor. Apart from Rangpur, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions, the temperature may drop by 1-2 degrees Celsius in other parts of the country from Saturday.
According to the warning, the heatwave over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Khulna and Barisal divisions may continue for the next 48 hours from 6 pm on Wednesday.
