POBNEWS24, Dhaka Sept 15, 2024 : The United States is providing $200 million in assistance to the priority sectors of the interim government for the development of Bangladesh. USAID Deputy Assistant Administrator Anjali Kaur announced the payment under the Development Cooperation Agreement at the Rashtriya Guest House Padma on Sunday (September 15).
At that time, Anjali Kaur said, “It is good to be a part of the US delegation for the first time during the new interim government. We have signed an agreement with the government. Under this, $200 million will be given to the priority sectors of the government. We want to work with the interim government. We Now I will work according to the agreement. This agreement is basically to advance the priority works of the government”.
She said, this is not an amendment, it is a new agreement. This is for FY 2023. So this is new funding for the interim government.
Anjali Kaur said, “This agreement will play a role in the inclusive prosperity of the people of Bangladesh. This means increasing economic stability. We are focusing on health, governance. We are looking at empowering the youth so that they can play a role for the country. The people of Bangladesh are the main priority here. I would like to thank Dr. Yunus and other advisors. We look forward to working together more.
