POBNEWS24, Desk report Dhaka Oct 25, 2024 : Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fled to India on August 5 in the face of student uprising. There is no official information about her whereabouts yet. In such a situation, on Friday (October 25), the Indian media Hindustan Times reported about intelligence officials that Sheikh Hasina is staying in a bungalow near India Gate and Khan Market in the capital New Delhi. The highly secured bungalow has multiple levels of security.
Earlier on Thursday, another media outlet in India, The Print, reported that Hasina is staying in a secure house in the Lutyens’ Bungalow zone in the capital of India, New Delhi. She goes out for a walk in Lodhi Garden occasionally with security protocol. However, considering the privacy and security of Sheikh Hasina, these two Indian media did not reveal the specific address of the bungalow.
According to intelligence officials, Hindustan Times said that there are several levels of security in the bungalow, the residence of the former Prime Minister of Bangladesh. Because during the prime minister’s tenure in Bangladesh, she has caused the death of many people, including the allegations of genocide as well as various atrocities.
The officials said on Thursday that Sheikh Hasina fled Bangladesh and took shelter at Hindon Air Base and has been living in Delhi at Lutyens’ Bungalow in Delhi since being shifted from there. Earlier last month a report in Financial Times said that she (Hasina) was spotted at Lodhi Gardens.
Those intelligence officials also said that this new residence of Sheikh Hasina is actually a safehouse of the counter-intelligence agency ‘Intelligence Bureau (IB)’ under the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs of India. However, citing the threat to Hasina’s life, they asked not to disclose the exact location of this residence.
