POBNEWS24, DHAKA, Bangladesh | October 14, 2026 — Bringing hope and the promise of better vision to underserved communities, Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) is conducting a voluntary eye care campaign in Rangpur, Bangladesh, to combat blindness and address its underlying causes.
The campaign, titled “Noor Al-Saudia Voluntary Campaign to Combat Blindness and Its Causes,” is being implemented from October 8 to 15, 2026, in collaboration with its local partner, Al-Basar International Foundation.
As part of the initiative, a Saudi volunteer medical team has been deployed to Rangpur to provide eye care services to people in need. The campaign aims to conduct eye examinations for 4,000 beneficiaries, perform 400 eye surgeries and distribute 1,000 pairs of eyeglasses.
The initiative reflects KSrelief’s ongoing humanitarian commitment to extending essential medical assistance to vulnerable communities worldwide. By bringing specialized eye care services closer to underserved populations, the campaign seeks to help alleviate the burden of vision impairment and improve beneficiaries’ quality of life.
Access to timely eye examinations, appropriate treatment and corrective eyeglasses can play a vital role in preserving vision and reducing the impact of preventable visual impairment. For communities with limited access to specialized healthcare, initiatives such as the Rangpur campaign can help bridge critical gaps in essential medical services.
The campaign also underscores Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian approach, which places human dignity, compassion and equitable access to assistance at the centre of its relief efforts. Guided by the principle of providing aid without discrimination, KSrelief works to ease human suffering and support vulnerable people regardless of their background.
Through this voluntary medical initiative, KSrelief and Al-Basar International Foundation aim to expand access to eye care in Rangpur while reinforcing humanitarian cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh.
Beyond medical examinations and surgical interventions, the campaign represents a broader commitment to helping people maintain their independence, improve their well-being and enjoy a better quality of life through improved vision.
The Noor Al-Saudia campaign stands as a testament to the humanitarian value of international cooperation in addressing preventable blindness and bringing essential healthcare services to those who need them most.
