POBNEWS24, Dhaka Dec 12, 2024 : RAB Director General Additional IGP AKM Shahidur Rahman said that the commission is investigating all the allegations against RAB, including mirror houses, disappearances, and murders.
He said, “We are providing all kinds of assistance on behalf of RAB. We believe that legal action will be taken based on the results of the investigation.”
He made this statement in response to a question at a press conference at the RAB Media Center in the capital’s Karwan Bazar on Thursday (December 12) afternoon.
For the past few days, there has been a discussion about the RAB’s mirror room, along with the allegations of disappearances and murders against RAB. What is RAB’s statement on this? When asked, he said, “There was and is a mirror room in RAB. It has been kept as it is. The Disappearances and Murders Commission has ordered that everything, including the mirror room, be kept in the same condition as it is. We have not changed or expanded the core. What was there has been kept in the same condition.”
When asked whether the uniform of RAB is being changed, he said, “There has been a demand to change the uniform of RAB. We are thinking about it. And RAB does not have its own law. RAB was established under the Police Act. We are thinking about making a separate law for RAB. Besides, necessary steps will be taken based on the opinions of the media and the public to reform other issues.”
However, the RAB Director General said, more important than the clothes is the person who will wear the clothes. We wear uniforms every day, you wear pants, shirts, suits, pajamas, and various clothes every day. No matter what clothes a good person wears, we will get good things. But no matter what clothes a bad person wears, we will not get good things. Here, the mentality of the person is more important than the clothes. Even then, we have taken into consideration the issue of changing the clothes of RAB.
