BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said these things at a discussion meeting on ‘Martyr Intellectuals Day’ at the Ramna Engineering Institute auditorium in Dhaka on Friday.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir commented, ‘If Awami League does it, it is throat-cutting and if BNP does it, it is beheading. This is not democracy. The movement will continue until we can turn democracy into a culture.’
The BNP Secretary General said, ‘Everyone is now making such statements that they are harming themselves. It is very important to be careful. On Thursday, an advisor commented, ‘Political parties are trying to fail the interim government’. This statement is dangerous. Everyone, especially BNP, is supporting this government. Because they will finish their work and give the people an opportunity to establish their rights through elections. Therefore, I strongly condemn, protest and demand the withdrawal of the advisor’s statement.’
He said, political parties are cooperating with the interim government. Therefore, the BNP Secretary General also called on the government not to make political parties its opponents.
