POBNEWS24, Desk report Dhaka Feb 14, 2025 : The Senate has finalized the nomination of Tulsi Gabbard as the US Director of National Intelligence. Tulsi’s name was nominated as the US Director of National Intelligence by President Donald Trump himself. Although there was a lot of discussion and criticism about her nomination, Tulsi Gabbard has finally been made the Director of National Intelligence. This was reported by BBC Online.

It is said that the Senate nominated the former Democratic Congresswoman by a vote of 52-48. Although many former Senate members voted against her. Among them, one Republican senator also joined the Democrats. He is Mitch McConnell. Despite being a Republican, he is not ready to accept Tulsi as the US Director of Intelligence.

After the nomination was finalized, Tulsi has already taken the oath. She will look after a total of 18 US intelligence agencies, including the CIA, FBI and NSA.

The BBC says that the nomination process for Tulsi was quite difficult. Because of her intelligence, Republicans have been at risk of losing votes in the Senate several times. However, Tulsi’s nomination is seen as another victory sign for Trump’s cabinet. Trump himself nominated Tulsi to be the director of the intelligence agency. Tulsi was quite disliked for the position due to her sympathy for Russian President Vladimir Putin and support for government leaker Edward Snowden. In addition, Gabbard visited Syria in 2017. At that time, she met with the now-ousted former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Tulsi also faced a lot of criticism for that visit due to widespread allegations of human rights violations against Assad.

Gabbard learned spiritual principles, such as karma, from the ancient Indian text Bhagavad Gita. As a teenager, she settled into the Hindu faith. Born Tulsi Gabbard April 12, 1981 Leloaloa, American Samoa. Other names Tulsi Gabbard Tamayo. Political party. Republican (2024–present). Other political affiliations.
