The court of Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ziadur Rahman issued the order on Monday (March 24).
On December 15, Shahibur Rahman filed the case against Shakib and four others on behalf of IFIC Bank. On that day, the court of Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbubul Haque recorded the plaintiff’s statement and issued summons to the accused to appear in court. Apart from Shakib Al Hasan, the other accused in the case are Shakib Al Hasan Agro Farm Limited MD Gazi Shahgir Hossain, the company’s directors Imdadul Haque and Malaika Begum.
Later, the accused Imdadul Haque and Malaika Begum appeared in court, but the court issued an arrest warrant against them as the others did not appear. The last date for submitting the Tamil report regarding the warrant to arrest Shakib in this case was Monday. Since the accused was absconding on that day, the plaintiff requested to attach his assets. Later, after the hearing, the court granted it. According to the case source, at different times, the Agro Farm owned by Shakib Al Hasan took a loan from the Banani branch of IFIC Bank for business purposes. Against that, the company owned by Shakib issued two checks. However, when the check was withdrawn, it was dishonored due to insufficient money.
