POBNEWS24, Dhaka July 25,2025 : A joint exercise of Bangladesh Army and US Pacific Army Command has begun. ‘Exercise Tiger Lightning (TL)-2025’ was inaugurated at the Para Commando Brigade in Jalalabad Cantonment, Sylhet on Friday.

The Deputy Commanding General of US Pacific Army Command, Major General Ascot A. Winter, was present as the chief guest at the event.
This exercise is being held under the joint supervision of the Para Commando Brigade of Bangladesh Army and the Nevada National Guard of the United States Army Pacific Command. The exercise will continue until July 30.
66 members of the US Nevada National Guard and 100 members of the Bangladesh Army’s Para Commando Brigade are participating in this exercise.
Bangladesh Army said that Bangladesh and the United States have mutual cooperation in regional and global security, counter-terrorism, disaster management and humanitarian assistance.
Bangladesh is committed to confronting any global threat, including natural disasters, and has been working together with other partners, including the United States. In continuation of this, Tiger Lightning exercise is going to be held in 2025 with the aim of increasing mutual cooperation, developing strategic joint operational capabilities and strengthening readiness.
Director, Army Air Defense Directorate, Director, Military Training Directorate and Commander, Para Commando Brigade were present on behalf of the Bangladesh Army at the opening ceremony. This exercise will make a significant contribution to developing the professional skills of the participating army personnel and will make an effective contribution to further strengthening the existing relationship between the Bangladesh Army and the United States Army.
