POBNEWS24, Dhaka Mar 10, 2026 : The deep Sundarbans located in the southern part of Bangladesh are full of animals. A python snake, which came from the Sundarbans to the locality on Tuesday morning, swallowed a goat belonging to a farmer whole. The incident took place in the Bhola River char of Rasulpur village in Sharankhola upazila adjacent to the forest.
With the help of locals, Community Patrolling Group (CPG) members rescued the snake and released it in the Sundarbans.
The matter was confirmed by Assistant Conservator of Forests (SCF) of the East Sundarbans Md. Shariful Islam.
Eyewitness Forkan Hawlader said that a goat belonging to Sohrab Farazi, a farmer from Rasulpur village, went to eat grass in the Bhola River char. When the goat did not return home, Sohrab Farazi started searching for the goat. Later, he saw the huge python in a nearby bush. At that time, he informed the CPG members and they all rescued the snake together. At that time, hundreds of people gathered to see the python that swallowed the goat whole.
The victim, Sohrab Farazi, said that the python from the Sundarbans swallowed his beloved goat whole. I am facing financial loss due to this.
CPG member, Sagir Sawdagar said that the snake has become a little sick. The snake has been released in the Sundarbans by the Forest Department.
