POBNEWS24, Dhaka Apr 13, 2026 : Outgoing Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Pranay Verma paid a courtesy call on Speaker of the National Parliament Major (Retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed. He paid a courtesy call on him at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Monday.
The meeting held constructive discussions on various aspects of the historical relations, mutual cooperation and future partnership between the two countries. In addition, emphasis was placed on enhancing the role of parliamentary diplomacy to further strengthen the existing good relations between the two countries.
The meeting emphasized on positive and constructive discussions to enhance India-Bangladesh relations, economic cooperation, connectivity and people-to-people contacts.
At the time, the High Commissioner congratulated Hafiz Uddin Ahmed on his election as Speaker and presented him with a constitution and a memento on behalf of the Government of India. Senior officials of the Indian High Commission, Secretary of the Parliament Secretariat and senior officials concerned were present at the meeting.
