POBNEWS24, Dhaka May 3, 2026 : 12 high-ranking officials of the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) are going to visit Pakistan to participate in a special training program. This ‘Executive Development Program’ will be held at the Civil Services Academy in Lahore, Pakistan from May 4 to May 21.
A government order in this regard was issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Thursday. The order was issued in the public interest by Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Md. Mahmud Ullah Maruf after the approval of the appropriate authorities.
The officers nominated for the training include one Additional Secretary and 11 Joint Secretary-level officers:
1. Salma Siddika Mahtab, Additional Secretary, Health Services Division.
2. Md. Mustafa Jamal Haider, Director General (Joint Secretary), Ministry of Commerce.
3. Md. Abu Raihan Mia, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration.
4. Md. Firoz Ahmed, Joint Secretary, Cabinet Division.
5. Md. Toufiq Imam, Joint Secretary, Cabinet Division.
6. Md. Toufiq Imam, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration.
7. Md. Raihan Akhtar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration.
8. A.F.M. Ehteshamul Haque, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs.
9. Md. Shamsul Haque, Joint Secretary, Local Government Division.
10. Md. Muhammad Abdus Salam, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration.
11. Dr. Md. Zillur Rahman, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.
12. Zia Ahmed Suman, MDS (Joint Secretary), BCS Administration Academy.
The government order has imposed several specific conditions for this visit:
Expenses : All expenses of this training will be borne by the Government of Pakistan. The Government of Bangladesh will not bear any financial responsibility for this visit.
Salary and Allowances : The concerned officials will receive their regular salary and allowances in local currency. The period of travel and training will be considered as ‘on duty’ or working time.
Report Submission : A report will have to be submitted to the Foreign Training Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration within 5 days of returning home after the training.
Location : No official will be able to stay in Pakistan beyond the approved period and will have to join their respective workplace immediately after returning.
It is to be noted that the government has recently been emphasizing on increasing international cooperation to enhance the skills of government officials. In continuation of this, it is known from the concerned sources that this higher training has been organized in Lahore.
