POBNEWS24, Mymensing, Oct 2, 2026 : Seven passengers of a CNG-powered autorickshaw were killed in Mymensingh when a bus hit them. Five of them were residents of Ranagachha Union in Jamalpur Sadar Upazila. Four of the deceased were members of the same family.
Relatives are devastated by the loss of four family members at once. The incident has cast a shadow of grief over the entire area.
The deceased are Mofazzal Hossain Lebu (55) of Darihamidpur Bhatipara village in Ranagachha Union in Jamalpur Sadar Upazila, his mother Rashida Begum (85), daughter Morjina (25), Morjina’s five-year-old son Minal, and Sujan Ali of Bir Gobindabari village in the same union.
Relatives said that Mofazzal Hossain Lebu left his house with his mother Rashida Begum, two-month-old pregnant daughter Morjina and grandson Minal on Friday at around 11:30 am. They were supposed to go to Mymensingh from Nandina by CNG-powered autorickshaw. From there, they planned to go to Gazipur by bus. However, they lost their lives in a road accident before reaching their destination.
Mofazzal Hossain Lebu, a mason by profession, had been living in the Hutapara area of Gazipur with his wife and one son for a long time. He had come home the day before to take his mother Rashida Begum and married daughter Morjina to their home in Gazipur.
Mofazzal Hossain Lebu’s sister-in-law Ismatara said, “My brother-in-law used to work as a daily wage laborer in Gazipur. He came home yesterday to take his mother-in-law, niece and grandson. My niece was two months pregnant. We have become destitute after losing everyone together.”
Neighbor Sohel Rana said, “Four members of the same family have died. Morjina was pregnant among them. We want a fair trial in this incident.”
