POBNEWS24, Dhaka Oct 2, 2026 : On the occasion of the 157th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Indian High commission and the AHCs in Khulna, Chittagong, Sylhet and Rajshahi are observing Gandhi Jayanti with a range of activities under Seva Pakhwada 2026.
As part of the nationwide ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign, the Assistant High Commission of India in Chittagong organized a “Beach Cleaning” drive at Patenga Sea Beach under the theme “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag, Swachha Bharat, Vikasit Bharat”. Assistant High Commissioner along with Officers and staff members of the Assistant High Commission, supported by about 100 students from Cider International School, enthusiastically participated in the event, which took place from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on October 01, 2026. The participants collected plastic, polythene, and other waste scattered across the Patenga Beach and deposited the trash at designated location. Participants were presented with ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign T-shirts, and the event was well supported by the Chattogram Metropolitan Police and the Tourist Police.
