POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Dec 4,2021: Liberation War Affairs Minister AQM Mozammel Haque has called upon government officials to study various aspects of the regime of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He said Bangabandhu not only made the country independent, but also gave full guidance on how the country could be established as a developed and dignified nation.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a commemorative function on the contribution of government officials in the great liberation war of 1971 at the Biam Foundation auditorium in Dhaka on Saturday on the occasion of the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence.

The Minister said that Bangabandhu was not only a charismatic leader but also unique as a diplomat. Members of the Allied forces during the Second World War are still stationed in different countries, but Bangabandhu repatriated the Indian Allies within 3 months. He rebuilt the war-torn country in a short time.
The minister said Bangabandhu drafted one of the best constitutions in the world, even holding a general election. He took initiatives for education, health as well as research, and even for acquiring technical skills. For this he set up a ground satellite at Betbunia. If Bangabandhu was alive, Bangladesh would have developed long ago.
In his speech, the state minister for public administration said the present government is working to implement the spirit of the liberation war. The main goal of our liberation war was to make Bangladesh a state free from exploitation and discrimination. Today, under the leadership of People’s Leader Sheikh Hasina, this country has been established as a role model of development in the world. The state minister called upon the government employees to work with the spirit of liberation war and the ideals of Bangabandhu in their heart to turn the country into a developed and prosperous state by continuing the progress of development.

Tawfiq-e-Ilahi Chowdhury, Bir Bikram, former Foreign Minister and Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Finance Abul Hassan Mahmud Ali MP and former Secretary. Shahjahan Siddiqui, Bir Bikram recalled the contribution of government officials in the war of liberation.
At this time, the speakers recalled the direct participation of government officials in the war of independence, formation of world public opinion in favor of the war of liberation, their role in the Mujibnagar government, cooperation of freedom fighters in procurement of arms, provision of shelter and so on.
KM Ali Azam, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration presided over the function. Biam Foundation Director General. M. Mizanur Rahman presented an essay on the contribution of government officials in the liberation war. Apart from this, prominent artists of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra performed music in the program.
In addition to the commemoration, a fair was held at the open premises of Biam Foundation with the services of various departments / agencies under the Ministry of Public Administration.
