POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Dec 6, 2021 : It has been raining intermittently in the capital from Sunday morning till Monday morning. It has started raining profusely since this morning. As a result, water has accumulated in various roads of the capital including Green Road, Dhanmondi, Badda, Rampura, Hatirjheel and Nabisco. Rickshaws were also less. Due to this, the people of the capital have to suffer a lot to go to school and work.
The meteorological department said that the deep depression in the North-West Bay of Bengal and adjoining West-Central Bay of Bengal has weakened and is in the form of depression in the same area. It may move further north and northeast and become progressively weaker.
The meteorological department has forecast moderate to heavy rains in Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Rajshahi divisions. Seaports have been asked to display local warning number 3.
Sharmin Chowdhury was suffering from not getting a rickshaw on his way to the office from Kalabagan in the capital at around 8 in the morning. He said he walked from Kalabagan to Panthapath junction. The water on Green Road is very wet after crossing the frozen water. He then reached the office from Panthapath to Karwan Bazar with a rickshaw fare of 60 rupees. The same situation is with his colleague Mamun Mandal. He also reached the office from Panthapath with a rickshaw fare of 60 rupees.
A man named Al Amin Sajib said he came to the office from Karwan Bazar in a rented microbus from Rampura. Where the microbus stopped, there was water on the road. Unable to get a microbus, he took a roundabout bus to Hatirjheel and reached the office.
Students from different schools on Dhanmondi and Green Road were seen getting wet in the rain. Students are going to school without getting a rickshaw. One guardian said he got the rickshaw after waiting for about an hour.
