Meanwhile, the port of Odisha has been disrupted due to rains. Crops have been damaged in several areas of the state. And in West Bengal, the West Bengal government has stopped ferry service on the Hooghly River. In addition, the public has been evacuated from the coastal areas of the state. The West Bengal government has urged tourists not to travel to the coastal areas of the state under the influence of Javanese. In addition, all fishing trawlers in Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Odisha have been banned from leaving the coast.
The heaviest rainfall in Odisha is due to the Javanese influence. There was about 200 millimeters of rain from 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm yesterday. According to the IMD, the rainfall in the affected areas averaged 100 mm.
Rainfall record in November after 1901
Meanwhile India Today reports that most parts of southern India are receiving incessant rains. It has been raining heavily in these areas since last August. From October 1 to November 30, Kerala received 115 percent rainfall, Paducheri 106 percent, Karnataka 103 percent, Tamil Nadu 60 percent and Andhra Pradesh 46 percent.
According to the IMD, these states received the heaviest rainfall in November. According to estimates, this is the first time since 1901 that so much rain has fallen in these states.
