POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Dec 22, 2021: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has arrived in Maldives on a six-day state visit. The special flight of Bangladesh Biman carrying the Prime Minister landed at Mall Velana International Airport at around 3 pm local time on Wednesday.
The Prime Minister was given a red carpet reception at the airport. After the formalities, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s convoy went to Hotel Jin in the capital Mall. He will stay at the hotel during the visit.
Earlier, a special VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 12:11 pm with the Prime Minister and her entourage.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will be accorded a courtesy call on the Vice President, Speaker and Chief Justice of Maldives. The Prime Minister will also address the Maldivian National Parliament. In addition, at the request of the Maldives Defense Department, 13 Army vehicles provided by the Bangladesh Army will be handed over to the Maldives Defense Office as a token of friendship.
At the end of the formalities, the two countries will issue a joint statement. The two leaders will jointly present their programs to the local media in the Maldives. Tomorrow evening, the Prime Minister will attend a state dinner hosted by the President of Maldives in his honor.
