POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Feb 20,2022: On the occasion of International Mother Language and Martyrs’ Day on 21st February, 600 patrol teams of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) will be deployed across the country. Besides, 56 patrol teams will be deployed to ensure security in the central Shaheed Minar area of the capital.
After inspecting the central Shaheed Minar area of the capital on Sunday, RAB Director General Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun briefed the journalists about their security arrangements with other forces.
At the time, Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun said the RAB patrol team would have 36 pickups (VVIP skirts) and 20 motorcycles, a control room, 50 CCTV cameras and an LED panel to ensure security in the central Shaheed Minar area. In addition, 2 observation posts, 2 bombs and a dog sweeping team will be kept in the area to ensure security. There will be 230 detectives and 24 special forces in the area.
The RAB director general also said that 1,222 RAB members will be in 323 patrol teams inside Dhaka to ensure the security of the day. Outside Dhaka, there will be 1,604 RAB members in 36 patrol teams. In all, 2,626 RAB members will be deployed in 600 patrol teams across the country.
