POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Feb 20,2022: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has conferred ‘Ekushey Padak-2022’ on Sunday morning. Minister of Liberation War Affairs on his behalf. A. M. Mozammel Haque handed over the medals to the winners at the ceremony. The Prime Minister was virtually involved in the event via video conference from Ganobhaban at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital. Congratulating the Ekushey Medal winners, the Prime Minister said, ‘Bangladesh is moving forward, will move forward.
These virtues of ours show the way. Your contribution in various fields, for which this progress of ours is possible. ‘
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, “We cannot give respect to all those who are contributing in different fields of society.” Yet our efforts are made by those who at one time contributed, many of whom may have been lost; We are also trying to find and respect them. So that people are freed from the distortion of history.
Sheikh Hasina said, “Many of the meritorious people who have received medals here today have contributed a lot to everything from the language movement to our struggle, the mass uprising of 1971, the election of 1970 and the liberation struggle of 1971.” Finding them, honoring them, as well as introducing them to the new generation of our country, how much they all sacrificed, how much they contributed, through which we achieved independence. ‘
