POBNEWS24, Dhaka, May 17, 2022 : Indian National Award winning filmmaker Gautam Ghosh and renowned film director Satyam Roy Chowdhury paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganobhaban on Monday.
After the meeting, Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Ihsanul Karim said that they discussed the documentary titled ‘Bangabandhu in Calcutta’ made by Gautam Ghosh on the life of Bangabandhu and his struggle in his political career while he was in Calcutta. Sheikh Rehana, the youngest daughter of the father of the nation and his grandson Radwan Mujib Siddique were present at the time.
Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana outlined the documentary in front of Gautam Ghosh and Satyam Roy Chowdhury.
They described the days of struggle and hardship of Bangabandhu in his student life in Calcutta.
In addition, the two daughters of the father of the nation, who survived the August 15 killings, highlighted the political life and philosophy of the greatest leader in the discussion.
During the meeting, Gautam Ghosh and Satyam Roy Chowdhury said that they had visited the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in Dhanmondi of the capital and had seen the brutal traces of the August 15 massacre in every corner of the museum. They also informed the Prime Minister that they felt that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu was still alive after seeing various patterns there.
They also referred to the two books ‘Unfinished Autobiography of Bangabandhu’ and ‘Prison Diary’ as great history. Gautam Ghosh and Satyam Chowdhury also said that they are proud to make a documentary on the life and work of the great Bengali leader.
Later, the Prime Minister and her younger sister Sheikh Rehana gave an interview on Bangabandhu’s political life and the struggles of his life in Calcutta.
Indian National Award winning filmmaker Gautam Ghosh is making a 30-minute documentary titled ‘Bangabandhu in Calcutta’, depicting Bangabandhu’s life and work while in Kolkata.
On April 4, Gautam Ghosh started shooting for the film in a classroom at Maulana Azad College, Kolkata. When Bangabandhu was studying there in the academic year 1945-46, it was called Islamia College. Source: Bass
