POBNEWS24, Dhaka, May 18, 2022 : The seventh meeting of the Bangladesh-India Joint Consultative Commission (JCC) will be held in Delhi on Sunday (May 30). Foreign Minister is going to New Delhi on May 30 to attend the meeting. AK Abdul Momen.
Abdul Momen said he was going to Delhi to attend the JCC meeting. The agendas have not been finalized yet.

“India has become a very good friend of ours,” he said. We can say all the problems. However, an attempt will be made to hold a meeting of the Joint River Commission (JRC) before the Dhaka JCC.
The Foreign Minister will travel to Delhi via Assam to attend the River Conference to be held on May 26-29 at the initiative of Bangladesh-India Friendship Group and some non-governmental organizations.
“We have decided to join that (river conclave) because four ministers of the central government of India (including Jayashankar) and eminent experts will join there (to discuss cross-border rivers),” the minister said.
Earlier, Indian High Commissioner Vikram Doraiswamy had a meeting with Foreign Secretary here. He also discussed the issues to be discussed at the JCC meeting.
After leaving the meeting, Vikram Doraiswamy told the media, “I am here to discuss with the Foreign Secretary to identify bilateral, multilateral cooperation and what plans and results we can get from the JCC.”
He said the JCC has a number of standard agendas, including trade and communication, political, consular and cultural, security development cooperation.
“Preparatory work is going on, I hope we can announce good results from JCC by the end of this month,” Doraiswamy said.
Regarding the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to New Delhi at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the High Commissioner said that they are now trying to fix a favorable day for both the leaders. Hopefully we can set a date soon.
Later, the Foreign Secretary told the media that during the meeting with the Indian Ambassador, he discussed the possible agenda of JCC and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s visit to India.
The Secretary said the issues of water sharing, border killing and connection of Dhaka inter-border river will be raised in the JCC meeting. Now that the Covid situation has gotten much better, we want to re-launch all rail connections and flights between Bangladesh and India.
The Virtual Sixth JCC Meeting was held on 29 September 2020 in Dhaka.
