POBNEWS24, Dhaka July 19, 2022 : The Chairman of JKG Healthcare Dr. Sabrina Arif Chowdhury and her husband Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company Ariful Haque Chowdhury along with 8 accused have been brought to the court. They were brought to the court from the jail around 8:30 am on Tuesday.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nahidur Rahman of CMM Court Gard informed the matter to Kal Kantha. He said, ‘8 accused including Sabrina and Arif were brought to the court from the prison around 8:30 am.
Now they are kept in custody. They will be brought to court before the verdict. ‘
The other accused in this case are Abu Saeed Chowdhury, Humayun Kabir Himu, Tanjila Patwari, Biplab Das, Shafiqul Islam Romeo and Zebunnesa.
According to the source of the case report, JKG Healthcare collected samples for corona detection in different parts of the country including Dhaka without testing them and gave reports to 27 thousand people. Most of these are identified as ‘fakes’. On June 23, 2020, the company was sealed on this allegation. On August 5 of that year, DB Police Inspector Liaqat Ali filed a charge sheet against eight accused including Sabrina-Arif in the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court. On August 20, 2020, the court ordered the trial to begin by filing a complaint requesting the release of the accused. During the trial, 26 of the 40 witnesses in the case have testified at various times. On May 11, the accused claimed their ‘innocence’ in defense and hoped for justice.
