POBNEWS24, Dhaka July 11, 2022 : Finally, the Bangladesh cricket team won. The Tigers won the first match of the ODI series after being unbeaten in Tests and T20s in the Caribbean. Tamim Iqbal’s team lost to the Caribbean by 6 wickets at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.
Bangladesh won the match by 150 runs in 41 overs due to rain.
Bangladesh reached that target by losing 4 wickets in 31.5 overs. Mahmud Ullah Riyad (41) and Nurul Hasan Sohan (20) remained unbeaten. Besides, Nazmul Hasan Shant scored 37 and Tamim Iqbal 33 runs.
Earlier, after losing the toss, the Windies collected 149 for 9 in 41 overs at the Shariful-Miraj bowling innings. Shamar Brooke scored 33 runs in three overs. 18 runs came from the bat of captain Nicholas Puran. Romario Shepherd also scored 15 runs. In the end, Joyden Seals played an unbeaten 16-run innings.
For Bangladesh, Shariful Islam took 4 wickets for 34 runs in 6 overs. Mehedi Hasan Miraj took three wickets for 36 runs in 9 overs. Mustafizur Rahman took one wicket. Debutant spinner Nasum Ahmed did not get any wicket but gave only 16 runs in 8 overs including three maidens.
Mehedi Hasan Miraj was the best in the match.
