According to the BBC, 56 people have lost their lives in the United States, Canada and Mexico due to the snow storm. Among them, 27 people died in the city of Buffalo alone.

According to the US National Weather Service, the situation that arose in the country is rare in history. It could break all previous winter records. Temperatures in western Canada have already reached 53 degrees below freezing. In addition, the temperature in Minnesota is 38 degrees below freezing, the temperature in Dallas is 13 degrees below freezing.
The snowstorm has caused unprecedented power outages and blackouts over the past few days, canceled flights and claimed at least 49 lives in nine states, The Times of India reported.
A particularly dire situation occurred in Buffalo, New York. Bodies were found in vehicles and under the snow. Emergency workers are searching car after car to see if anyone is alive or dead.
