POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Apr 4, 2023: A fire broke out in the capital city’of Dhaka’s Banga Bazar area in Bangladesh on Tuesday morning. At least 41 units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence are working to bring the fire under control. The fire broke out at around 6:10 am.
Speaking to UNI, Rafi Al Faruque, duty officer of the fire service control room confirmed the fire. However, he could not confirm the source of fire immediately.
Rafi Al Faruque also said that 41 units of fire service are working to control the fire at the moment. Apart from that, many more units are on the way. No casualties have been reported so far, he added.
A rescue team of Bangladesh Army and a helicopter of Bangladesh Air Force have been deployed to bring the massive blaze at the city’s Banga Bazar, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said at a statement to UNI..
Rashedul Alam Khan, assistant director of ISPR, told Prothom Alo a joint team of army, a rescue team of air force and a helicopter are working to extinguish the fire.

Many businessmen of the Banga Bazar, one of the biggest clothing markets in the country, were seen crying. They incurred huge loss in the fire just before the Eid-ul-Fitr.
Fire service said most of the shops of the market have been gutted in the fire.
