POBNEWS24, Dhaka, July 11, 2023 : President Mohammed Shahabuddin today condoled the death of ruling Awami League lawmaker from Netrokona-4 constituency Rebecca Momin.
In a condolence message, the Head of the State prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family.
The President recalled her contributions with due respect to the local politics and social works in her electoral area.
Rebecca Momin, wife of former AL Presidium Member and ex-Food Minister Abdul Momin, died of old-age complications at Square Hospital here in the early hours of today at the age of 76.
After death of her husband in 2004, she was elected as a member of parliament for the first time as a candidate of the Awami League in the ninth national parliamentary election in 2008.
She was elected from that seat for three consecutive terms in 2008, 2014 and 2018.
Rebecca Momin was also the chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs.
