POBNEWS24, Dhaka, July 12, 2023 : Except Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions, the rainfall trend is very low across the country. On Wednesday (July 12), the Meteorological Department said that the day temperature may rise across the country.
Dinajpur received the highest rainfall of 98 mm in the last 24 hours from 6 am on Tuesday to 6 am on Wednesday. Dhaka division was almost rainless.
According to the Meteorological Department, the axis of monsoon is extending across Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and northern parts of Bangladesh to Assam. An extension of it extends to the northern Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay of Bengal.
Mild heat wave started in Rajshahi, Pabna and Chuadanga regions last Monday. However, on Tuesday it went away.
The highest temperature in the country was 36 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi on Tuesday. The maximum temperature in Dhaka was 33.4 degrees Celsius.
The weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 9 am on Wednesday. Manowar Hossain said that in many places of Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and in some places of Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barisal divisions, light to moderate rain with gusty wind or thunder may occur temporarily. At the same time moderate to heavy rainfall may occur at some places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.
During this time, the day temperature may increase slightly and the night temperature may remain almost unchanged across the country, said the meteorologist.
The Meteorological Department also said that there is no warning for the country’s inland river ports till 6 pm on Wednesday.
