POBNEWS24, Dhaka July 10, 2022 : BGB Director General Major General Shakil Ahmed said that this time no foreign animal could come to the Korbani market through any border. So no cows other than the cows of our farmers were seen in the cattle market in the remote areas. But now we will do another thing, that is to prevent skin trafficking. We have instructed everyone not to be trafficked.
We are carrying out our duties properly with the guidance of the concerned ministry and the discipline of the Prime Minister.
He said this while delivering special relief to the Banavasis along with sacrificial meat and food items among more than 800 Banavasis in Dalura area of Sunamganj border on Sunday afternoon.
He was accompanied by BGB Regional Director Brigadier General Shahidul Islam, Sector Commander Colonel Selim, Sunamganj-26 BGB Commander Lt. Colonel Md. Mahbubur Rahman etc. Officers of various battalions were present during the distribution of special Eid relief.
The Director General of BGB further said that the Hon’ble Prime Minister has taken a timely decision to conduct rescue and relief activities for the Banavasis of Sunamganj. On the basis of this directive of the Prime Minister, we too have stood by the flood victims with our own funds from the first day of the flood. Yet we have continued to support the Banavasis of Sunamganj.
He further said that the relief that we have received from the Prime Minister’s relief fund has also been properly distributed through the coordination of the administration. We will continue this service. “As long as the flood victims seek help, the BGB will continue to provide assistance,” he said, adding that “if we all work together for the flood victims, we will be able to alleviate the suffering of the flood victims.”
He said, “We have brought special relief for the helpless flood victims of Sunamganj on the day of Eid.” We have given special relief for various items including fresh meat, spices, rice, pulses, oil, semai, so that they can celebrate Eid with the whole family.
The BGB provided special Eid relief to 600 families in three packets. The relief includes 1.5 kg of meat, rice, pulses, semai, lachchi, salt, sugar and other food items.
