POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Mar 30, 2022 : In celebration of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, AR Rahman, the superstar of the music world, has come on stage with more than a hundred traveling companions. The Oscar-winning musician took to the stage at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur around 10:15 pm on Tuesday to spread the melody.

AR Rahman will sing two songs composed about Bangabandhu on the stage today. Bangladeshi lyricist Zulfiqar Russell has written two songs in Bengali and Hindi.

AR Rahman is scheduled to perform for three hours in the concert.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and members of the cabinet are present on the occasion. Also present are Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan and his wife Afroza Begum. Bashundhara Group Managing Director (MD) Sayem Sobhan Anvir and his wife Sabrina Sobhan are also present on the occasion.

The concert is sponsored by Bashundhara Group, a leading industrial group in the country. The entire program is being broadcast live on the private satellite channel Newstwentyfour. The BCB has named today’s event ‘Cricket Celebrate Mujib 100’. Although the program started with the national anthem at 6:15 pm, the music lovers started entering the field from 3 pm by showing the scheduled tickets.

Popular brand Miles came on stage after the national anthem at the beginning of the show. After Miles, the country’s music empress Mumtaz took the stage.

10,000 spectators are enjoying the live concert sitting on the main ground of the stadium. Tickets have been sold in three categories. Sangeet Pipasura entered the field after buying Gold for five thousand rupees, Platinum category ticket for 10 thousand rupees and General category ticket for one thousand rupees. Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium has been renovated on the occasion of the concert. Outside, a green light flickers. Several temporary installations have been made inside. There is lighting all over the stadium.

Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina’s passion and feeling towards cricket is always at the top. The Prime Minister has enjoyed many matches of the national cricket team sitting on the field. Bangakanya is often seen participating in various events including BCB concerts. This time too he was no exception.
