POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Mar 29, 2022 : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that she has mobilized the armed forces with the aim of dealing with any external enemy attack.
He was speaking at the inauguration of ‘Sheikh Russell Cantonment’ at Jajira in Shariatpur on Tuesday (March 29). He joined the function through video conference from Ganobhaban.
The Prime Minister said, “We have mobilized the armed forces with the aim of dealing with any external enemy attack.”
Thanking the Bangladesh Army, Sheikh Hasina said, “My two younger brothers (Sheikh Kamal and Sheikh Jamal) were in the army.” Russell’s younger brother also wanted to be an army officer, but could not. I thank the army for setting up a cantonment in his name. Although Russell’s wish was not fulfilled, the name remained associated with the army.
