POBNEWS24, Dhaka Jan 8, 2025 : ‘India, being a democratic state, has extended the visa of the murderer Sheikh Hasina to keep her, but the people of Bangladesh did not take it positively. Where there is democracy, there will be rule of law. But in the case of Bangladesh, I have seen that India does not respect the rule of law. It always works with an aggressive attitude,’ said BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

He said this after meeting the family of Shaheed Shahriar Khan Anas, a class 10 student of Gandaria Adarsh School, during the mass movement of the students and the public on Wednesday, to convey the message of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

Will those who killed children, including the protesters, not be brought to justice? Asking such a question to the interim government, Rizvi said, ‘The police members of the law enforcement agencies have shot and killed children, youth, and youth in public in front of the media. But why are they not being arrested?

He said that the government should have arrested the murderers of July-August first and brought them to justice. This government is a blood-drenched government, because this government has been formed on the blood of children, youth, farmers and workers. The responsibility of this government is to ensure food security for the people.

After reading Anas’ letter, he was moved and said, “I felt that these children are so enthusiastic for the country, for the people of the country, to discover something great, to achieve it. I got it in this letter that they (the martyrs of the student-people’s movement) can be so determined at this age. After reading this letter, my life seems insignificant, the example that these self-sacrificing martyrs have set, I feel that we are insignificant to them, we have faded away.”

He said, “Sheikh Hasina used to enjoy drinking people’s blood, will that person come back again, will there be no trial for him? Will there be no trial for those who killed these children? The police members of the law enforcement agencies shot and killed them in public in front of the media, why are they not being arrested?” asked Rizvi.

Rizvi said that India, being a democratic state, has extended the visa period of the murderer Sheikh Hasina to keep her, but the people of Bangladesh did not take it positively. Where there is democracy, there will be rule of law. But in the case of Bangladesh, we have seen that India does not respect the rule of law. India always works with an aggressive attitude.

The financial assistance distribution program organized by the convener of ‘Amar BNP Paribas’, Atiqur Rahman Rumon and member secretary Mokchedul Momin Mithun, was also attended by the advisor of Amar BNP Paribas, Engineer Ashraf Bakul, BNP co-organizing secretary Professor Aminul Islam, member Hamidur Rahman Hamid, Swechchhasebak Dal vice-president Dr. Jahidul Kabir, BNP leader Zakir Hossain, Chhatra Dal vice-president Dr. Awal and other leaders.
