It is learnt that on the date mentioned in the GD, three motorcycle-riding men, including a coordinator named Noman of the Airport Police Station, went to Mir Afroz Zaman’s office to look for him. When he was not found, they abused him in foul language on his mobile phone and threatened to lock him up if he did not meet them within an hour. After this, journalist Zaman went to Uttara Paschim Police Station around 8 pm and filed a GD. The police have not been able to arrest anyone so far. In this incident, the Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) and the Indian Media Correspondent Association Bangladesh (IMCAB) have issued a joint statement demanding the immediate arrest of the culprits and bringing them to justice.
